LAMBERT TO LEAD YOUNG STARS
KING’S Lynn have signed the experienced Simon Lambert as captain and rider-coach of their National Development League team.
Lambert, who had a Testimonial at the Adrian Flux Arena earlier in his career and managed the Steelers in the NDL last season, is set to take the No.1 berth for the Young Stars with a responsibility to act as a mentor for the rest of the side.
Manager Jason Pipe said: “I’ve known Simon personally now for a good 20 years or just over, and I know how he works and how he likes to help his team-mates in whatever team he has been in over the years.
“No pressure has been put on Simon to bring home big points and I’ve told him I need him to give the rest of the riders as much help as he possibly can.
“But knowing Simon as the professional rider he is and as a friend, I know he’ll be going all out to score me maximums every meeting! That’s just the way he rolls.
“Simon will be the captain of the team, which he will relish doing. Any rider in our team this season is going to gain from Simon’s wealth of experience and I can’t wait until we all get together so they can see what he will bring to the team.”
