GILKES IN FOR YOUNG STARS

KING’S Lynn Young Stars will bring in Dan Gilkes for their final three WSRA National Development League matches of the season.

Gilkes had agreed to join the club just before suffering a broken collarbone, but he will be fit to take his place when their campaign resumes in a fortnight.

The Norfolk side are set to host a double header against Leicester and Middlesbrough on September 16, with Gilkes resuming his position instead of Edward Kennett.

Manager Jason Pipe said: “I’ve kept my promise to Dan of a team spot once he was fit again and I’m absolutely delighted that he’s coming into the side for our final three meetings of the season.

“This now hopefully makes us look much more of an attractive team and a more competitive team, with our own riders, rather than using guests or rider replacement. 

“I’d like to thank Eddie for coming in to cover for Dan whilst we were waiting for Dan to declare himself fit to ride again. Eddie knew he was only in the 1-7 until Dan was ready to return.”
