COLTS DOWN TO WIRE AGAINST CHARGERS
WILLIAM Cairns made more headlines on his Belle Vue debut with a match-winning performance to help his side edge past Oxford in the WSRA NDL.
The Colts won the match 48-42 as Cairns, who scored an incredible 17+2 from seven rides, combined with Sam Hagon (12+1) for a 5-1 in Heat 15 over the previously unbeaten Luke Killeen (13).
However, the result did see the Chargers hang on for the aggregate point, which moves them level on points with NDL leaders Leicester, albeit having raced two more matches.
Cairns also won the 500cc section of the British Youth Championship round, with Stene Pijper and William Hocaniuk completing the top three, whilst Tia May Brant won the 125cc support class ahead of Jack Scully-Syer and Rhys Harrow.
