WITCHES SWOOP FOR ELLIS
IPSWICH have completed the signing of GB international Adam Ellis – who previously rode for the club at the start of his senior career a decade ago.
Ellis is a former title winner with Swindon but lost his place with eventual Sports Insure Premiership champions Sheffield this year, and is now keen to make a fresh start at Foxhall.
He said: “I had a few options, but I am looking forward to going back to Ipswich and I said to most of the guys if I was going to ride in England, I probably wanted to race in Ipswich because I know how Ritchie (Hawkins) and Chris (Louis) work. The track can suit me pretty good, and I am looking forward to it.
“2023 wasn’t very good! It was tough in England, but it has been and gone now and there is not a lot I can do about that, so I am just putting it behind me.
“It was important knowing that Ritchie and Chris are two guys that are good to work with. I get on well with them and they tell you what they think, they don’t beat around the bush, but they are not rude about it.
“I know what I am stepping into and that helps a lot. Some of the guys racing there this year told me it was the best run club they have been involved with over the last few years, so it wasn’t a difficult decision.”
