POSTPONED: WOLVERHAMPTON v PETERBOROUGH (Sports Insure Prem)

MONDAY’S scheduled Premiership match at Monmore Green between Wolverhampton and Peterborough has been postponed because of a waterlogged track. A new date will be announced in due course.

WOLVERHAMPTON will be aiming to maintain their 100 per cent home record when they host Peterborough in the Sports Insure Premiership tonight (Monday).

The Wolves have won all six of their fixtures in all competitions at Monmore Green so far this season, including a 50-40 victory over the Panthers in early May.

The home side are at full strength whilst the visitors’ facility for Nicki Pedersen has now expired, and with new signing Vadim Tarasenko not yet ready to join, they bring in Erik Riss at No.1.

Wolves star Rory Schlein said: “We’re definitely looking for another strong team performance once again and another heavy win at home.

“Every meeting is important; we just want to keep the ball rolling in the league.”

Panthers co-promoter Carl Johnson said: “The ‘no facility’ for this meeting is one of those things unfortunately – we knew about it, but getting these deals over the line are not simple.

“It’s not ideal but there’s not a lot else we can do. Obviously we were hoping to have things in place for Monday but there just wasn’t time to do so.

“The boys will still give it their best there, and we expect things to be completed in time for next Monday at Belle Vue.”

WOLVERHAMPTON: Sam Masters, Steve Worrall, Luke Becker, Ryan Douglas, Rory Schlein, Zach Cook, Leon Flint.
PETERBOROUGH: Erik Riss, Ben Cook, Benjamin Basso, Richie Worrall, Niels-Kristian Iversen, Hans Andersen, Jordan Jenkins.
