PREVIEW: WOLVERHAMPTON v LEICESTER (Sports Insure Prem)

LEICESTER are looking for points in their Midlands derby at Wolverhampton tonight (Monday) as they bid to hold on to a play-off place in the Sports Insure Premiership.

The Lions start the meeting in the top four but are under threat from Ipswich, and could miss out if they lost both of their away matches this week at Monmore Green and then at Peterborough on Thursday.

Wolves are the only team with an unbeaten home record, but the Lions took them all the way to a Super Heat in a 45-45 ‘draw’ last month.

Lewis Kerr makes his debut for the visitors having signed last week following his release from rivals Sheffield, whilst Wolves name a full-strength line-up.

Lions boss Stewart Dickson said: “These are two tough away matches, but we do travel to Wolverhampton now with a certain degree of confidence.

“That plays a huge part with speedway riders’ mentality, the way they think, so we certainly go there looking to get something.

“It’s only after that meeting that we’ll look at what happened at King’s Lynn where everyone is just assuming Ipswich will win, but it’s not always that easy, and then we’ll know what we have to do at Peterborough.”

Wolves captain Sam Masters said: “It’s important that you’re feeling confident and it’s always good to go into those meetings on a good run of form.

“It won’t be easy against Leicester though because they’re a good solid team. But the boys are feeling good after last Monday, so let’s carry that on.”

WOLVERHAMPTON: Sam Masters, Steve Worrall, Luke Becker, Ryan Douglas, Rory Schlein, Zach Cook, Leon Flint.
LEICESTER: Max Fricke, Justin Sedgmen, Lewis Kerr, Richie Worrall, Richard Lawson, Jake Allen, Drew Kemp.
