POSTPONED: PETERBOROUGH v SHEFFIELD (Sports Insure Prem)
HEAVY, persistent rain hit the East of England Arena an hour or so before start-time forcing the postponement of the Peterborough v Sheffield Premiership clash. A new date will be announced in due course.
SHEFFIELD head to Peterborough in the Sports Insure Premiership tonight (Thursday) looking to consolidate their place in the top four.
The Tigers won the reverse fixture by 14 points at Owlerton recently with the aggregate point now up for grabs at the East of England Arena.
Lewis Kerr misses out with injury for the visitors, who will operate the rider replacement facility, whilst for the Panthers Vadim Tarasenko makes a second home appearance after starring on his debut at the venue against Belle Vue.
Peterborough boss Rob Lyon said: “There’s no doubt Vadim’s arrival has lifted the spirits in the camp a bit, and he put on a great show on his first time around here.
“Hopefully he can continue that kind of form and lift the other boys, and we can get some wins on the board.”
Sheffield manager Simon Stead said: “Monday was a really important result for us against Ipswich and it means we’ve hit a good run of form again.
“What we can’t do is take anything for granted though because Peterborough have still got quality in that team and they could turn it on at any point.
“We’re riding well as a team though so let’s just hope we can continue doing what we have been doing of late.”
