PREVIEW: PETERBOROUGH v BELLE VUE (Sports Insure Prem)

PETERBOROUGH give a home debut to recent signing Vadim Tarasenko in tonight’s (Monday) televised Sports Insure Premiership clash with leaders Belle Vue.

Tarasenko impressed with a double figure haul in last week’s reverse fixture in Manchester and now appears at the East of England Arena for the first time.

The Aces are four points clear at the top of the table and have an outstanding record on their recent visits to the Cambridgeshire venue.

Panthers No.1 Niels-Kristian Iversen top-scored in their defeat at Ipswich on Thursday and will lead their chase for just a second home win of the season.

He said: “I’ve been struggling a bit on the smaller tracks since coming back to British racing. It’s different settings on the bikes, different techniques and everything, and I’ve found it a little difficult.

“It was definitely much better at Ipswich. I felt better on the bike and did some decent races, so it’s definitely a step in the right direction.

“We just need to focus now on Monday’s home meeting and hopefully we can get a win. It’s time for us to kick on at home.”

The visitors will be without Norick Blodorn, who pulled out of his Polish Division One meeting at Landshut yesterday, and is replaced by Keynan Rew.

Aces captain Brady Kurtz said: “Peterborough is one of those tracks that all our boys like to ride because it’s so similar to the NSS, and we’ve put in some very good performances there in the past two seasons.

“We know our capabilities, but we can’t take anything for granted. It only needs them to get themselves together on the night and they could be a dangerous opponent.

“But we’re looking forward to this meeting. We’re enjoying our speedway right now and that’s showing in the results we’re achieving, and I feel we are capable of achieving another win on Monday.”

PETERBOROUGH: Niels-Kristian Iversen, Ben Cook, Benjamin Basso, Richie Worrall, Vadim Tarasenko, Hans Andersen, Jordan Jenkins.
BELLE VUE: Dan Bewley, Tom Brennan, Jaimon Lidsey, Charles Wright, Brady Kurtz, Keynan Rew, Jake Mulford.
