PREVIEW: LEICESTER v SHEFFIELD (Sports Insure Prem)

LEICESTER and Sheffield are level on 29 points from 19 meetings as they head into tonight’s (Saturday) vital Sports Insure Premiership clash at the Pidcock Motorcycles Arena, Beaumont Park.

The Lions are just outside the play-off places after a disappointing run of recent results, whilst the Tigers are just inside – and both teams are chasing Ipswich, who are two points ahead but have raced four more matches.

Home boss Stewart Dickson changes his riding order again with Richie Worrall named at No.5 and Craig Cook moving to No.2 ahead of two crucial home matches in three days as the Lions also face King’s Lynn on Monday.

Meanwhile Ryan Douglas guests at No.1 for the Tigers, who are without Tobiasz Musielak due to the Polish play-offs, and Jason Edwards comes in at reserve. They continue to operate rider replacement for Adam Ellis.

Dickson said: “We’ve been hanging on, and now we need to get a couple of home wins to get us into fourth place.

“I know teams will look at our recent home results and feel they’ve got a chance, I’d be doing the same myself, and certainly nobody is going to help us in this situation.

“We need to roll up our sleeves and say that for the next team coming here, which is Sheffield, we’re not losing again.”

Sheffield manager Simon Stead said: “We know the importance of every single fixture and every single point now.

“You’re always trying to win, but when you get to this stage of the season then they always feel that little bit more significant.

“Nothing is certain either way for ourselves or Leicester yet so there’s plenty to race for but hopefully we can carry on where we left off against Wolves and build up some momentum again.”

LEICESTER: Max Fricke, Craig Cook, Richard Lawson, Justin Sedgmen, Richie Worrall, Jake Allen, Drew Kemp.
SHEFFIELD: Ryan Douglas, Adam Ellis r/r, Josh Pickering, Kyle Howarth, Tai Woffinden, Lewis Kerr, Jason Edwards.
