PREVIEW: LEICESTER v PETERBOROUGH (Sports Insure Prem)

LEICESTER look to consolidate their place in the Sports Insure Premiership top four when they host Peterborough tonight (Thursday).

The Lions could go second with a win, depending on Wolverhampton’s result at Ipswich, but were pushed close by the Panthers the last time the sides met at the Pidcock Motorcycles Arena, Beaumont Park.

The bottom club also performed well at the East Midlands venue in last week’s Premiership Pairs, where they finished runners-up with former Lions rider Richie Worrall putting in an outstanding performance.

Leicester boss Stewart Dickson said: “I’m quite happy with how we’ve been riding at home, but there will be no complacency from us heading into this meeting.

“We only beat them by five points earlier in the season and we’re not good enough to turn up and think we can be at 60-70 per cent just because we’re facing a team at the bottom of the league.

“We know all about Richie and it’s interesting to see that Rob Lyon has put him at No.2, which I think is testament to the way Justin Sedgmen has been going. They’re obviously looking to counter Sedgy with Richie, but we’ll see if they lose out elsewhere.”

Panthers captain Hans Andersen said: “When we were there earlier in the season we actually pushed them pretty well, and we go there with the ‘superstar’ Worrall who seems to be nearly unbeatable there!

“Vadim (Tarasenko) is a quality rider, he got round Ipswich and scored some points, so it will probably take him a ride, maybe two at Leicester, but he’ll be fine.”

Leicester operate rider replacement for Nick Morris who is ruled out after a crash in Poland at the weekend.

LEICESTER: Max Fricke, Justin Sedgmen, Richard Lawson, Chris Harris, Nick Morris R/R, Jake Allen, Drew Kemp.
PETERBOROUGH: Niels-Kristian Iversen, Richie Worrall, Benjamin Basso, Ben Cook, Vadim Tarasenko, Hans Andersen, Jordan Jenkins.
