LEMON BACKING FOR MOUNTAIN

BELLE Vue boss Mark Lemon is confident new signing Connor Mountain can develop with the Aces during the upcoming Premiership campaign.

Mountain will start at reserve for the Manchester club this year after missing out on a top-flight place in 2023 following previous spells with King’s Lynn and Sheffield recently.

And he will get an early opportunity to test himself at the National Speedway Stadium with a place in the Peter Craven Memorial on March 18.

Lemon said: “We’ve always maintained at Belle Vue that development is at the heart of our club. We want to see riders improve and we want to see them progress onto big things.

“Connor has been around for a while and this year is his chance to really come into his own, and he was very enthusiastic about accepting his chance with us.

“I’ve no doubt he’ll be giving everything he’s got in the Peter Craven Memorial. He wants to start his season at Belle Vue by making a good impression and I have faith that he will.”
