BRUMMIES TEAM COMPLETE

BIRMINGHAM have completed their Premiership line-up with the signings of international duo Piotr Pawlicki and Vaclav Milik.

Polish star Pawlicki, who was World No.6 in 2016 and won the Latvian GP the following year, returns to the UK for the first time in a decade after previously appearing for Coventry, Poole and Wolverhampton.

Meanwhile Czech racer Milik was a title winner for Poole in 2014 and also appeared for King’s Lynn, before going close to top honours on two occasions in the European Championship.

Brummies CEO Nigel Tolley said: “They initially made our shortlist having been heavily recommended by a number of our contacts, and the more we got to know about them, the more we felt they would ideally be suited to Birmingham.

“Piotr is a really stylish rider and he will keep supporters at all tracks entertained, that’s for sure.

“I know he was immensely popular during his time at Wolverhampton and even though it’s been quite some time since he raced in British Speedway, I think he’s got everything it takes to lead from the front at No.1.

“Vaclav is another rider who has caught the eye of speedway supporters over the years, and his return to the UK could come at the perfect time.

“He’s got the skill for sure to be a natural heat-leader in this league, and I’m excited to see how he can perform.”

BIRMINGHAM 2024 (Subject to approval): Piotr Pawlicki, Vaclav Milik, Steve Worrall, Wiktor Lampart, Tom Brennan, Zach Cook, Leon Flint.
