BECKER BIDS FOR LIONS SUCCESS

USA star Luke Becker believes team spirit will be strong at his new club Leicester as he prepares for his first season away from Wolverhampton.

Becker, who was in fine form for his country in last weekend’s international event at Kern Raceway, is one of three members of the Wolves’ 2023 side to make the switch across the Midlands after Monmore Green was closed to speedway by stadium owners Entain.

Sam Masters and Ryan Douglas join Becker in the new-look Lions side as they look to mount a title challenge in the Sports Insure Premiership.

Becker said: “With it being the first time riding for a different club since beginning racing in the UK, it will definitely be a lot easier settling in with some familiar faces around.

“Having a good bond with your team-mates I think is really important to win a title, and I have no doubt all of us boys will get along good together.
“I’m excited for the whole situation and I can’t wait to meet all the Leicester fans and everyone involved in the club.”
