WITCHES NAME CLASS OF ’26

IPSWICH will welcome back three of their title-winning heroes as they defend the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership under new ownership this season.

Witches skipper Danny King and fellow GB star Tom Brennan, who takes over as No.1, will be back at Foxhall along with already announced Rising Star Jason Edwards.

There are two new faces with the Suffolk side moving for established Polish ace Tobiasz Musielak, who rode for Birmingham last year, and Swedish newcomer Philip Hellstrom-Bangs.

Meanwhile two former Ipswich riders return with Richard Lawson back for a second spell, having last appeared for Ipswich in 2019, and Witches legend Scott Nicholls makes a dramatic return to Premiership racing with his first top-flight club.

Co-promoter Richard Coleman said: “It’s almost impossible to replace Jason Doyle and Emil Sayfutdinov, but he side we have assembled for 2026 has plenty of strength in depth.

“We have riders who are vastly experienced as heat leaders in British speedway and a fantastic blend of youth and experience.

“After a long winter of waiting for news about the club, we were keen to share news of the side that Andrew (Chisholm) and Paul (Hurry) worked hard to assemble in the weeks and months while we concluded Mayfield’s acquisition of the club.

“This was at a time when the other four teams in the league had pretty much already built their teams. Despite that, I feel we have a well-balanced side, and I really hope fans will get behind the Witches class of 2026.”
