PREVIEW: OXFORD v BIRMINGHAM / BIRMINGHAM v OXFORD (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)

OXFORD and Birmingham both introduce new faces as they seek to get off the mark in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership today (Monday).

The two sides have failed to score a league point between them from ten efforts combined so far this season, and the Bank Holiday schedule sees them meet both home and away.

Craig Cook has joined the Spires at reserve, and they host the opening clash at BetGoodwin Oxford Stadium at 1pm.

They then reconvene at Perry Barr this evening, with Birmingham going into the day by including newcomers Paco Castagna and Danyon Hume.

Oxford boss Peter Schroeck said: “The two meetings are very important – we need to get at least one victory under our belts, although we will aim to win both meetings against Birmingham.

“I’m delighted to welcome back Craig Cook to Oxford. He had a 28-day-spell with us last season. We know Craig is a solid scorer, especially at reserve.

“Of course, it’s not just about the reserves and the rest of the team know what we expect of them. One or two them know they need to start performing, starting in the two meetings against Birmingham on Monday.”

Brummies captain Tobiasz Musielak said: “Of course we need a win. But I think we should get our chins up and maybe go into it with no expectations – maybe we want it too much.

“Let’s go into it with no stress, that’s what I did at the (Ben Fund) Bonanza at Oxford, and it worked for me.”

OXFORD: Maciej Janowski, Erik Riss, Charles Wright, Peter Kildemand, Rohan Tungate, Craig Cook, Luke Killeen.

BIRMINGHAM: Tobiasz Musielak, Paco Castagna, Jonas Jeppesen, Keynan Rew, Michael Jepsen Jensen, Danyon Hume, Jason Edwards.

SCB Referee: Graeme Hunter / Gary Allen
