PREVIEW: NORTHAMPTON v LEICESTER (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)

NORTHAMPTON bid to bounce back from last week’s heavy home defeat when they host second placed Leicester at the Shaleway tonight (Monday).

The Foxes were the latest team to feel the power of leaders Belle Vue when they lost 35-55 on their own track on Thursday, but they do have Nicolai Klindt back as they face the Lions.

Rising Star Luke Harrison is still ruled out for the Foxes with Freddy Hodder coming in to guest, whilst the Lions bring in Paco Castagna to stand in for the retired Kyle Howarth at reserve.

The visitors are second in the league table and enjoyed a big win over Sheffield last time out, although their recent away matches have resulted in heavy defeats and they lost on their previous visit to their local rivals.

Northampton star Jaimon Lidsey said: “We’ve got a few more matches at home coming up, and it’s good for us getting to ride on the same track all the time.

“Hopefully we can finish with a couple of wins, that would be super-nice for us riders, the club and all the fans who come to support us every week.

“The new boys will find their feet. It’s a bit of a tough track, and I’m sure next meeting they will be more ready for it. I think they’ll be fine from now on.”

Leicester manager Stewart Dickson said: “We’ve got to remember we are only eight points up to start with, so the aggregate point has to be the target first of all.

“Northampton have strengthened up and I know they had a tough result against Belle Vue but they will be back at near full strength for racing against us on Monday.

“There are opportunities for more points for us, as we also go to Ipswich on Thursday where we recently drew in the KO Cup Final, but we need to start riding better away from home if that’s going to be a reality.”

NORTHAMPTON: Niels-Kristian Iversen, Kye Thomson, Nicolai Klindt, Adam Ellis, Jaimon Lidsey, Mitch McDiarmid, Freddy Hodder.

LEICESTER: Ryan Douglas, Drew Kemp, Nick Morris, Dan Thompson, Sam Masters, Paco Castagna, Joe Thompson.
