PREVIEW: LEICESTER v OXFORD (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)

LEICESTER can become the third team to secure their ROWE Motor Oil Premiership play-off place when they host Oxford tonight (Monday).

The Lions are on an impressive eight-match unbeaten run and victory at the Pidcock Motorcycles Arena, Beaumont Park will mean the Spires cannot catch them for a place in the top four.

It would also leave Oxford relying on unlikely mathematics to retain a play-off chance, as they would only be able to go level with Belle Vue who have a far superior race points difference.

The Lions name a full-strength line-up with Craig Cook due back after missing their last five matches, but the Spires will be without Rohan Tungate who is recovering from a weekend crash, and rider replacement will be in operation.

Leicester manager Stewart Dickson said: “The message from me to the riders doesn’t change, we’ve got to keep on doing exactly what we’ve been doing, and ensure we keep performing at the same level.

“We know the rewards that will come from another win, as that would put us out of reach of Oxford and guarantee our top four place.

“We’re also looking for the supporters to help get us over the line. This is a chance for us to create club history, because no Leicester team has ever reached the play-offs in the top league before, and it’s in our own hands to do it.”

Oxford boss Peter Schroeck said: “We have to win the match, it is going to be a tough one as Leicester are in form at the moment.

“With the right attitude we might just surprise everybody.”

LEICESTER: Max Fricke, Richard Lawson, Sam Masters, Luke Becker, Ryan Douglas, Craig Cook, Sam Hagon.
OXFORD: Rohan Tungate R/R, Erik Riss, Maciej Janowski, Charles Wright, Chris Harris, Ashton Boughen, Luke Killeen.
SCB Referee: Craig Ackroyd
