PREVIEW: KING’S LYNN v LEICESTER (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)
LEICESTER keep up their pursuit of top spot in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership when they visit King’s Lynn in tonight’s (Monday) televised encounter.
The Lions are unbeaten in ten matches, and two more wins against the Stars this week – by a race points difference of at least 14 – would take them above Sheffield ahead of the play-offs.
For the Stars it’s a final home meeting of an injury-hit season, but despite their problems they have won their last four matches, and tonight Chris Harris, Norick Blodorn and Simon Lambert come in as guests, whilst the Lions are without Rising Star Sam Hagon after a crash at Poole on Sunday, and Max James comes in to replace him.
Leicester boss Stewart Dickson said: “We’re going to King’s Lynn to win, and I do feel we have a good chance of doing so, although they’ve had some good results at home lately.
“If we can finish top of the table that would mean we would have choice of legs in the Grand Final – and I must stress that is very much a case of if we get there, because we know we face a tough semi-final first and Ipswich will be pulling out all the stops to beat us.
“But if we do get to the Grand Final, we would want the second leg at home and that would be what our supporters want as well, to see the title decided on our own track.”
Stars manager Rob Lyon said: “We’ve been running with the best possible guests we can given the circumstances with what’s available.
“We seem to be pulling off terrific wins against teams that are thinking that they should come here and probably win.
“With all due respect, Leicester will probably fall into that same category so I think it should be a great match.”
KING’S LYNN: Chris Harris, Anders Rowe, Niels-Kristian Iversen, Norick Blodorn, Jan Kvech, Simon Lambert, Lewis Kerr.
LEICESTER: Max Fricke, Richard Lawson, Sam Masters, Luke Becker, Ryan Douglas, Craig Cook, Max James.
