PREVIEW: KING’S LYNN v BIRMINGHAM (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)

KING’S Lynn and Birmingham will both be operating rider replacement at No.1 when they meet at the Adrian Flux Arena tonight (Thursday).

The Stars confirmed this week that Tobiasz Musielak won’t be returning to the club, whilst the Brummies are without Gorzow GP winner Fredrik Lindgren – who suffered an injury when celebrating his victory with a wheelie!

The home side also bring in Ben Cook as a guest for the injured Nicolai Klindt, and they have already completed one ‘double’ over the Perry Barr club this year.

Stars boss Rob Lyon said: “This is now the first of four home meetings in July and if we can manage to win them and get aggregate points where applicable then it puts us right in the mix for fourth.

“By that point we may well have managed to strengthen. It is no secret it has been a tough few weeks, but our efforts to establish the strongest possible team continue.

“Once we get a settled side again, we can look to kick on and push towards the play-offs, which is what it is all about.”

Brummies CEO Nigel Tolley said: “It is really disappointing we won’t have Freddie with us on Thursday because he would have been full of confidence having won the GP at the weekend.

“Anyone who was watching though could see he had hurt himself and while he’s given it a few days to see how he progressed, he’s still not quite right and doctors have advised he gets some further treatment before he gets back racing.”

“It should be an interesting meeting and if we can ride similarly to how we did when we were there a couple of months ago and get a few more points from some areas of the team then I see no reason why we can’t push them all the way.”
