PREVIEW: IPSWICH V KING’S LYNN (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)
IPSWICH and King’s Lynn clash in the East Anglian derby at Foxhall this afternoon (2.15pm) with their Bank Holiday encounters often throwing up drama.
The Witches had the better of the recent KO Cup matches between the sides, winning both home and away, but the Stars have been successful in two home fixtures since then.
Former Ipswich rider Jordan Jenkins comes in to guest for the home team, who are without Swedish racer Philip Hellstrom-Bangs due to a suspension imposed by his own federation.
King’s Lynn return to full strength with Paco Castagna back in the line-up after missing last week’s ROWE Motor Oil Premiership win over Sheffield.
Ipswich manager Paul Hurry said: “Obviously, they will be looking for revenge, and this is a league meeting. They have had a few meetings to get in gear now. A few of their riders are starting to fire. We just have to hit the ground running, do what we do and focus.
“When you look at the scores, yes, we have won meetings, but when you look down the list, there is still room for improvement from everyone.
“When you have a successful team, one of you may be off form, but the others will pick up the pieces. You just can’t afford for more than one or two to have a bad meeting. That’s when things start to get sketchy.”
Stars boss Rob Lyon said: “We’ve got a lot of confidence in the team to go to Ipswich and perform well.
“We’ve been there once earlier this year, so hopefully we can turn them over and get some points on the board!”
IPSWICH: Tom Brennan, Danny King, Richard Lawson, Scott Nicholls, Tobiasz Musielak, Jordan Jenkins, Jason Edwards.
KING’S LYNN: Max Fricke, Paco Castagna, Chris Harris, Ben Cook, Jan Kvech, Cooper Rushen, Jody Scott.
