PREVIEW: BIRMINGHAM v LEICESTER (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)

BIRMINGHAM and Leicester meet for the second time in five days tonight (Monday) with the Lions looking to further boost their play-off prospects.

For the Brummies it is another opportunity to end their losing sequence in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership, with the aggregate point also in play after they were beaten by just six points at Beaumont Park last week.

Leicester go into the meeting three points ahead of Oxford in the battle for the top four, and this is one of their two matches in hand on the Spires.

The visitors track Drew Kemp – who started the season in their team – as a guest for Craig Cook at reserve, whilst the Brummies are at full strength.

Birmingham CEO Nigel Tolley said: “It’s going to be another interesting meeting.

“We’ve been starting to show what we can do as a team – now, the next step is to get over that winning line.

“Leicester have got a good side with riders who tend to travel well at Perry Barr. But the Brummies are ready and we’re looking forward to what should be another exciting meeting.”

Lions boss Stewart Dickson said: “I know people were talking on Thursday about whether six points would be enough for the aggregate point, but without being disrespectful we’re not going there for an aggregate point, we’re going there to win.

“It might sound a bit boastful but that’s the sort of form that we’re in at the moment. Monday is a different night and I’m sure we can give a good account of ourselves.

“Drew is pretty good around Birmingham and it shows the man he is that he has no hard feelings or thoughts about not doing it because of being taken out of the side, and that’s testament to him.”

BIRMINGHAM: Fredrik Lindgren, Wiktor Lampart, Piotr Pawlicki, Zach Cook, Tom Brennan, Michael Palm Toft, Leon Flint.
LEICESTER: Max Fricke, Richard Lawson, Sam Masters, Luke Becker, Ryan Douglas, Drew Kemp, Sam Hagon.
