PREVIEW: BELLE VUE v SHEFFIELD (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM GRAND FINAL)

BELLE VUE take a four-point lead into the second leg of the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership Grand Final against Sheffield at the National Speedway Stadium tonight (Friday).

The table-topping Aces pulled off a 47-43 win at Owlerton earlier this week to put themselves in the box seat for a third league title in five years.

Their previous two league crowns have both been sealed away from home, meaning a big night now lies ahead in Manchester with the Tigers determined to spoil the party.

Belle Vue call up Nicolai Klindt to guest for broken wrist victim Peter Kildemand, whilst Max Fricke continues at No.1 for Sheffield in place of Jack Holder.

Aces manager Mark Lemon said: “We take an advantage into the meeting, but nobody within our camp believes the job is done.

“Sheffield have pushed us hard here before, and they have proven race winners throughout their side. I’m certain their team manager, Simon Stead, will have them fired up and determined to make an early impression, and we must be ready for that challenge.

“Our approach won’t change. We’ll continue to follow the processes and standards that have served us so well throughout the season.

“I have every confidence in our boys around this circuit, but the play-offs can be unpredictable, and a four-point advantage at the halfway stage is no reason to lose focus.”

Stead said: “There’s still another 15 heats to go. The pressure is certainly on them now – we’ve got nothing to lose, and wouldn’t it be great if we could pull something out of the bag and pull off something really special?

“We’ve shown in the past we can go well at Belle Vue, but we’ll need to be at our very best collectively on this occasion.”

BELLE VUE: Brady Kurtz, Norick Blodorn, Nicolai Klindt, Zach Cook, Jason Doyle, Tate Zischke, Will Cairns.

SHEFFIELD: Max Fricke, Anders Rowe, Chris Holder, Leon Flint, Josh Pickering, Jye Etheridge, Luke Killeen.
