PREVIEW: BELLE VUE v SHEFFIELD (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)

BELLE Vue and Sheffield kick off a busy Bank Holiday Monday in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership with a high noon showdown at the National Speedway Stadium.

Both sides have qualified for the play-offs with the Aces needing a win to keep alive their hopes of a top two finish.

The Tigers currently hold second spot with matches in hand on their rivals, and they raced to an impressive 55-35 victory when the sides met in South Yorkshire earlier this month.
 

Aces boss Mark Lemon said: “There is nothing quite like a War of the Roses clash on a Bank Holiday Monday.

“We’ve had some epic battles with the Tigers over the past few seasons and we could have yet another big clash in the play-offs. So this will certainly be another fascinating encounter.

“We need to step it up now. Every meeting is a cup final, every point is vital.”

Sheffield skipper Josh Pickering said: “We’re going there to win, there’s no doubt about it.

“As an away rider, everyone looks forward to going there when it comes up on the calendar every year and I can’t wait for this one.

“We’re in a good position right now and while the play-offs are fast approaching, there’s still plenty to race for.”
