PREVIEW: BELLE VUE v KING’S LYNN (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)

ROWE Motor Oil Premiership leaders Belle Vue have the opportunity to stretch their advantage into double figures when they host King’s Lynn tonight (Monday).

The Aces are seven points clear at the top of the table, and a win tonight would also give them the aggregate point after their recent victory in Norfolk.

It’s the first of two away matches for the Stars, who also travel to Sheffield next week, prior to a crunch home clash with Ipswich in a fortnight as they fight for a play-off place.

Belle Vue bring in Jason Edwards to guest for Tate Zischke who is still out with concussion, and they are also without Peter Kildemand after a crash in Denmark last week. The visitors are at full strength with Jordan Jenkins now back in action.

Aces boss Mark Lemon said: “Obviously the first job in any season is to make the play-offs and I think it’s fair to say we have as good as done that now.

“What’s important now is that we keep pushing on, because I want us to finish top of the table. There is still work to do before we get to that stage, and this will be an interesting meeting because King’s Lynn have riders who know their way around our track.

“We are confident of course, but never over-confident, and we need to keep the ball rolling and the momentum up as we head towards the play-offs.”

Stars manager Rob Lyon said: “The result against Sheffield has kept our chances very much alive, and the performance was quite encouraging as well

“We now move on to the next one and we know it’s going to be a really tough one at Belle Vue, but we’ve just to go there and see what we can do as a team.

“We’ve got to try and keep the confidence up for this one and also to see if we can do something up at Sheffield again where we have a ten point lead.”
