PREVIEW: BELLE VUE v BIRMINGHAM (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)

BELLE Vue kick off a busy Bank Holiday Monday of racing in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership when they host Birmingham at midday.

The Aces were beaten 47-43 in an exciting televised encounter at Perry Barr last week and will now look to turn the tables with the aggregate point also at stake.

The home side are at full strength but the Brummies are without Zach Cook who was involved in a crash at Berwick on Saturday and is struggling with hip and back pain. They operate the rider replacement facility.

Belle Vue boss Mark Lemon said: “It wouldn’t be respectful if we didn’t say they deserved the victory (last Monday), however we struggled to capitalise on our chances and I felt it was one meeting we let go.

“But what I did like about the team was the fact we learnt and took quite a few positives away with us which should put us in good stead for the rest of the season.

“It won’t be an easy match on Monday. Birmingham will be feeling confident of their chances, but we have ambition as strong as theirs. It has all the makings of an excellent match.”

Brummies manager Sam Ermolenko said: “Belle Vue’s track can be a little bit different in the daytime.

“We’re going there open-minded but we know it’s going to need a full team effort. Our lower end riders are riding well, so now we need our top European riders to step up and join them.

“Piotr (Pawlicki) and Vaclav both had good weekends so hopefully that can give them a bit of a boost going to a big fast racetrack like Belle Vue.”

BELLE VUE: Brady Kurtz, Norick Blodorn, Jaimon Lidsey, Ben Cook, Dan Bewley, Connor Mountain, Connor Bailey.
BIRMINGHAM: Piotr Pawlicki, Steve Worrall, Zach Cook R/R, Wiktor Lampart, Tom Brennan, Vaclav Milik, Leon Flint.
SCB Referee: Michael Breckon
