CAIRNS SET FOR BIG STEP UP

BELLE Vue’s new Rising Star Will Cairns is relishing his step up to the top-flight this season at the age of just 16.

Cairns will make his official debut for the Aces in next Monday’s (March 30) War of the Roses encounter with old rivals Sheffield in the Premiership Knockout Cup, having previously raced for the club in the National Development League.

He said: “I’m really looking forward to the season. Obviously I’m still only 16 so I’ve got lots of learning to do, and lots of experience to gain.

“It would be nice to try and beat the other Rising Stars, but I know I’ve definitely got my work cut out there.

“I think this year is all about learning and trying to find my feet. I would like to improve my average, but only time will tell!”
