ACES IN SEVENTH HEAVEN

BELLE Vue moved into a seven-point lead at the top of the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership with a dominant 57-33 home win over Northampton.

The Aces continue to hold a 100 per cent record at the National Speedway Stadium this season, and they recorded another big score despite the injury absences of Jason Doyle and Peter Kildemand.

Zach Cook kept up his strong run with 13+2 – his fourth double figure score in his last five Premiership outings – whilst skipper Brady Kurtz (12) won his first four races before running a rare last place in Heat 13. 17-year-old Rising Star Will Cairns notched an impressive 9+2.

The Foxes were 20-points down at the halfway stage but they did peg things later on as Jaimon Lidsey (11) and Nicolai Klindt (8) won five of the last seven races between them.

Aces manager Mark Lemon said: “It was another really solid performance and you can’t ask for any more as a team manager.

“Obviously not having Jason or PK could’ve been problematic, but I felt this team could cover Jason’s rides and that’s a pretty big statement to make.

“We’re just oozing confidence right now around this place and it’s a difficult place for any team to come.”

Foxes boss Chris Adams said: “We were struggling all night really to be fair. It was a little bit embarrassing to be honest.

“We know we’re a better team than that, and so far our results have been okay. We’ve just got to put this one to bed and go again.”
