KING’S Lynn have appointed new signing Josh Pickering as captain for the upcoming Premiership season.

Pickering, who joins the Stars after an impressive spell with Sheffield, is the full-time replacement as skipper for Lewis Kerr, who relinquished the role in the closing weeks of the 2021 campaign.

Said Pickering: “It’s a very special thing to me to be asked to be captain. I’m very honoured to do such a job, and I was quite surprised when I was approached.

“We have a great bunch of lads in the team, and I’m looking very forward to the coming season.

“I’ll be open and honest about set-ups, and give the boys as much as I can give on what I feel is right.

“We are on the same team and we all need to be on the same page at a race-track. I’d just like to create an atmosphere in the pits where any of us will be able to ask each other any question at any time.”
