PREVIEW: WOLVERHAMPTON v SHEFFIELD (PO SF)
WOLVERHAMPTON and Sheffield launch the Premiership play-offs with the first leg of their semi-final clash at Monmore tonight (Monday).
The Tigers topped the league table and have performed well in two of their three visits to the West Midlands this season, with Wolves edging a thriller 46-44 just over a month ago.
Both teams are at full strength with the second leg scheduled for Owlerton next Thursday (October 6).
Wolves skipper Sam Masters said: “Sheffield have put together a really strong team this year and we’ve had some really close meetings against them.
“This is the beginning of the play-offs though and it doesn’t really matter what’s happened before now, everything starts again here.
“We know if everything clicks together on the night and all seven of us Wolves boys do our job for the team that we’re capable of coming up with a big result at home.”
Tigers boss Simon Stead said: “I think we’re in for a great couple of meetings with Wolverhampton.
“They’re a solid side, they ride their place really, really well but we’ve shown on numerous occasions that we can do the business there.
“We’ll go there and do our best and build up whatever we can to bring back to Sheffield for the second leg.”
WOLVERHAMPTON: Sam Masters, Steve Worrall, Luke Becker, Ryan Douglas, Nick Morris, Drew Kemp, Leon Flint.
