PREVIEW: WOLVERHAMPTON v PETERBOROUGH (PO SF)

WOLVERHAMPTON host Peterborough at Monmore tonight (Monday) as the Premiership play-off semi-finals get underway.

It’s a clash between the top two sides in the final table with the Panthers electing to face Wolves after winning at Monmore Green earlier this month.

The home side return to full strength after captain Rory Schlein missed that meeting following a positive Covid test, whilst the Panthers operate rider-replacement for the injured Ulrich Ostergaard, and still have the high-scoring Hans Andersen at reserve.

Wolves star Sam Masters said: ““It’s a big meeting, they don’t come much bigger than the play-offs, and any type of lead would be good for us.

“We don’t put a figure on it really as long as we have a lead I think with our team it should be enough but we will be aware of Peterborough’s strengths throughout their side.”

Panthers captain Scott Nicholls said: “You always take those positives into a meeting when you’ve had a good result there before, but we know they’re going to be up for it, and so will we!

“Wherever you go it’s going to be tough, which is why making the choice was so difficult.

“We’ve got Wolves, we’ll go there in determined mood, and if we can start with an away win then obviously that would be nice going into the home leg.”

WOLVERHAMPTON: Sam Masters, Luke Becker, Nick Morris, Ryan Douglas, Rory Schlein, Broc Nicol, Leon Flint.
PETERBOROUGH: Ulrich Ostergaard R/R, Chris Harris, Michael Palm Toft, Scott Nicholls, Bjarne Pedersen, Hans Andersen, Jordan Palin.
