PREVIEW: SHEFFIELD v WOLVERHAMPTON (Prem)

SHEFFIELD race their first home meeting since September 2019 tonight (Thursday) – and their first in the top-flight at Owlerton since 1988.

The Tigers face in-form Wolverhampton, who have secured two massive victories in their two Premiership meetings so far.

Co-promoter Peter Mole said: “Wolves are my local club, and I am always afforded a great welcome from Chris Van Straaten and Pete Adams when I go along to watch.

“But I want to beat them. We want our first win of the season, but they’ve started the season brilliantly and they’ll arrive here full of confidence.

“We know it will be a really tough meeting, but we all need to savour the occasion and enjoy it.”

Adams is optimistic of another good night for his side, who include 2019 Tigers rider Broc Nicol at reserve.

He said: “I’ll need to set the satnav, it’s so long since I went to Owlerton! But I’m very much looking forward to it and we go there in good shape after our great results so far.

“If the boys keep on riding the way they have been then they’ll take some stopping. It’s a long season though, and things can change very quickly in speedway.”

SHEFFIELD: Troy Batchelor, Justin Sedgmen, Adam Ellis, Kyle Howarth, Jack Holder, James Wright, Josh Bates.
WOLVERHAMPTON: Sam Masters, Luke Becker, Nick Morris, Ryan Douglas, Rory Schlein, Broc Nicol, Tom Bacon
