PREVIEW: SHEFFIELD v KING’S LYNN (LC FINAL)

SHEFFIELD take a 12-point lead into the second leg of the League Cup Final against King’s Lynn with the silverware to be decided at Owlerton tonight (Wednesday).

The Tigers put up an impressive performance at the Adrian Flux Arena last month to take control of the tie, and will now look to end the season with a trophy as some consolation for missing out in the Premiership Grand Final.

Both sides make two changes due to rider unavailability for a November meeting, with Sam Masters and James Wright guesting for Sheffield in place of Jack Holder and Justin Sedgmen respectively.

Meanwhile the Stars bring in Tom Brennan for Josh Pickering and operate rider replacement for Nicolai Klindt.

Sheffield boss Simon Stead said: “”It feels like we’ve been waiting for this meeting to come around forever!

“The lads are looking forward to getting out there one last time though, and the fact that there’s silverware up for grabs is making them even more excited.

“12 points is a nice solid lead to be bringing into our home leg, but we need to apply ourselves properly because we’ve seen already this season that King’s Lynn can ride Sheffield well.”

King’s Lynn manager Alex Brady said: “In the two meetings we’ve had up there this year, I suppose you can describe us as ‘consistently inconsistent.’

“The first time we went up there, a few of the riders went brilliantly and a couple didn’t go quite so well, and the second time it was a role reversal!

“If we can get it right on the night, we can win there, but obviously 12 points is a difficult margin to turn around. We’ll go there, give it everything we can, and see where it takes us.”

SHEFFIELD: Sam Masters, Lewis Kerr, Adam Ellis, Kyle Howarth, Tobiasz Musielak, James Wright, Connor Mountain.
KING’S LYNN: Richard Lawson, Tom Brennan, Richie Worrall, Thomas Jorgensen, Nicolai Klindt R/R, Frederik Jakobsen, Jason Edwards.
