PREVIEW: SHEFFIELD v BELLE VUE (PO SF)

SHEFFIELD and Belle Vue get their delayed Premiership play-off semi-final underway with the first leg at Owlerton tonight (Monday).

The meeting fell victim to the weather last week but the sides are unchanged with the Tigers having won both home clashes with the Aces in the regular campaign, although both went to last-heat deciders.

Sheffield co-owner Damien Bates said: “It’s the biggest night of speedway Owlerton has seen in the modern era, our first ever Premiership play-off and we can only hope the lads are on form and up for the challenge.

“I’m sure Simon Stead will have them fired up for it and, if anything, the wait has just made us more desperate to get on with it and get stuck in.”

Belle Vue boss Mark Lemon said: “We have our game plan and our goals for this meeting. We know we are quite capable of putting on a very strong performance at Owlerton and I expect no less on this occasion.

“The boys are hungry, the whole club is hungry for league success and we know we must bring a decent advantage into the second leg at the National Speedway Stadium.”

SHEFFIELD: Jack Holder, Troy Batchelor, Kyle Howarth, Josh Pickering, Adam Ellis, Danyon Hume, Connor Mountain.
BELLE VUE: Dan Bewley, Richie Worrall, Steve Worrall, Charles Wright, Brady Kurtz, Tom Brennan, Jye Etheridge.
