PREVIEW: PREMIERSHIP PAIRS Round 3
KING’S Lynn stage Round 3 of the Premiership Pairs at the Adrian Flux Arena tonight (Thursday) – with just two points separating the top three clubs.
The Stars and Sheffield are joint leaders with Ipswich only two points behind following their win on home territory at Foxhall last month, and Belle Vue are also in contention.
Josh Pickering and Richard Lawson again represent the home side, whilst Jack Holder returns to partner Adam Ellis for Sheffield, and Danny King is back for Ipswich to join Jason Doyle.
Stars co-promoter Dale Allitt said: “We’re in a solid position, we all know what Picko and Richard can do around here and it would be nice for them to build on a strong start by capitalising on our home track advantage.”
Sheffield boss Simon Stead said: “We had a quick chat with the lads, and discussed a few different things, and in the end we’ve decided to go with Jack and Adam. As we’ve seen on a number of occasions already this season, those two together can beat any other riders in this year’s Premiership.”
Ipswich manager Ritchie Hawkins said: “It will be another really tough meeting and a strong line-up. I know how good Danny is around King’s Lynn when he is on it and Jason has been superb everywhere. We go into it with confidence believing our pairing can be pushing to win another round.”
As with all rounds of the series, the meeting will be live-streamed on the British Speedway Network.
