PREVIEW: PETERBOROUGH v SHEFFIELD (Prem)

PETERBOROUGH have top spot in the Premiership in their sights again when they host Sheffield at the East of England Arena tonight (Monday).

Victory will take the Panthers back above Belle Vue – and it is an Aces regular who could be a key figure in a guest appearance for the visitors.

The Tigers bring in Tom Brennan to stand in for the injured Josh Bates, with Brennan having scored an impressive paid-10 on his previous visit to Alwalton this season – whilst their top two of Troy Batchelor and Jack Holder are both former Panthers riders.

Panthers boss Rob Lyon said: “Going top of the league with the win last week was a nice feeling, but it doesn’t really mean a great deal.

“Other teams have lots of matches to catch up, but we are there to be chased now and we need to keep that momentum going, and continue the run.

“There’s a long way to go, but so far we have to be really happy with the way it’s going.”

Sheffield manager Simon Stead said: “We’re pleased to get Tom for the evening as a guest replacement for Josh and I’m looking forward to seeing him.

“Their (Peterborough’s) good form doesn’t surprise me. I can see how well they are working as a team which is what Ipswich did at Owlerton last Thursday, and we are going to need to dig deep for this one.

“We’ve won both our home meetings but we need to pick up points on the road. It would be nice for us to bring something back from Peterborough.”

PETERBOROUGH: Bjarne Pedersen, Hans Andersen, Michael Palm Toft, Scott Nicholls, Chris Harris, Jordan Palin, Ulrich Ostergaard.
SHEFFIELD: Troy Batchelor, Kyle Howarth, Adam Ellis, Justin Sedgmen, Jack Holder, James Wright, Tom Brennan.
