PREVIEW: BELLE VUE v PETERBOROUGH (Prem)

BELLE Vue open the Bank Holiday Monday Premiership schedule by welcoming Peterborough to the National Speedway Stadium.

The teams meet in Manchester at midday before making the trip to the East of England Arena for the return fixture this evening.

The Aces collected five points from their opening two matches, whilst the Panthers finally get their campaign on track after suffering rain-offs so far.

Amongst their opponents is Charles Wright, who rode for Peterborough in his British Final winning year of 2019 but then switched to the Aces.

Belle Vue skipper Steve Worrall said: “As a team, we’ve settled down considerably since that first meeting against Sheffield. There was a lot going on that night and you could feel the nerves and the tension.

“But that has long since evaporated and for me there’s no excuse as to why we can’t make a much bigger impression both at home and away on Monday.

“We’ve had plenty of success at Peterborough in the past as well and I feel we have everything we need to go there and put in an equally strong performance, because why not?”

Panthers star Chris Harris said: “Hopefully I’ll get plenty of points across the two meetings, and going to Belle Vue is a great way to start the season.

“It’s a good track to race when you have fast engines and I’m looking forward to it, I just want to get racing after the rain-offs we’ve had so far.”

BELLE VUE: Brady Kurtz, Richie Worrall, Dan Bewley, Steve Worrall, Charles Wright, Tom Brennan, Jye Etheridge.
PETERBOROUGH: Bjarne Pedersen, Hans Andersen, Michael Palm Toft, Scott Nicholls, Chris Harris, Jordan Palin, Ulrich Ostergaard.
