KING’S CUP FINAL AIM

IPSWICH skipper Danny King is targeting a place in the Premiership KO Cup Final.

The Witches have already overcome Leicester in the first round and now take on local rivals Peterborough in the semi-finals, with the meetings to take place next week starting at the Showground on Monday.

The clubs met in the Final at Championship level back in 2017 with the Panthers taking the silverware after King crashed out in the second leg.

He said: “Yes, I remember that. We lost by just four points at Peterborough and had almost clawed them all back before I crashed out.

“It would be nice to get back into a Cup Final. The way we are riding, we are more than capable. It would be a nice thing to look forward to.

“We’re in good form. It’s a good draw for me on a personal note, as I like the track, and for us as a team.”
