JACK’S ROAD TO RECOVERY
IPSWICH and Poole racer Jack Thomas has given a positive update on his recovery from serious back and neck injuries.
Thomas crashed in practice at Scunthorpe on the eve of the season, and faced a nervous wait before discovering the full extent of the damage which included two unstable vertebrae.
He said: “I’m doing really good now, I’m starting to get about and was given good news from Hull at my last check-up, saying they’re happy enough that my spinal breaks are all stable.
“I’m starting to make my way about and regain all the fitness I can, and then I’m having another check-up on May 4 to see where we stand for the next one.
“The fans’ help with my GoFundMe page has been absolutely unreal, as without it I would have been in a total muddle. I really appreciate everyone’s support, the help has been unbelievable.
“I really wanted to make this season mine, but it’s just unfortunate. I’ll still be about as much as I can to support the boys until I can ride.”
