DAD’S ARMY DO IT AGAIN

PETERBOROUGH moved to within two points of Premiership leaders Wolverhampton with another storming away win at Sheffield.

The Panthers contributed ten race winners for a second time this week as they ran out 50-40 winners at Owlerton for the second time this season.

And the result means victory in either of their home matches next week against Sheffield and King’s Lynn will confirm top spot ahead of the play-offs for the first time in the top-flight since 2006.

Man of the moment Chris Harris contributed 13 points for the Panthers including a stunning Heat 13 effort to pass Jack Holder and Adam Ellis, who top-scored for the home side with 12+1.

Panthers boss Rob Lyon said: “I always thought tonight would be a tough one to be honest, but it was another true team performance once again.

“Everyone chipped in, and we really pushed on in the second half of the meeting – that was the difference.

“Connor (Mountain, 8+1) was a superb guest for us and was probably our match winner. Chris Harris just keeps on going. That ride in Heat 13 was just incredible – only Bomber could do something like that, just an unbelievable ride.”

Ellis said: “They were definitely the better team. We weren’t on great form tonight and they’ve come here and made the most of it – they’re a really strong team all the way through.

“We’ve been a bit unlucky with injuries but it’s tough to take, especially at home just before the play-offs. Hopefully when we get back here next week, we can put things right.”
