COOK STEPS IN FOR PANTHERS
PETERBOROUGH have called up their former rider Craig Cook to guest in the second leg of the Premiership Grand Final against Belle Vue tonight (Thursday).
Cook, a long-time Aces star, rode for the Panthers in the Championship in 2016 but a planned team place in the top-flight two years ago fell through on press day.
Now he steps in at the East of England Arena as they look to turn around a narrow 44-46 deficit and secure their first title since 2006.
The Panthers have confirmed Michael Palm Toft will take his place at No.1 as he continues to ride through the pain barrier with broken fingers, whilst youngster Jordan Palin emerged unscathed from a crash at Leicester on Tuesday.
Manager Rob Lyon said: “I’d like to welcome Craig into the side and thank him for agreeing to step in.
“We know what a good rider he can be and I’m confident he can do the job to help us get the result we need to become champions.”
