BIG WEEKEND FOR BRIDGER

KING’S Lynn boss Peter Schroeck says this weekend is a landmark moment for comeback man Lewis Bridger.

After shedding weight during the winter, Bridger returns to the saddle in a private practice session at Eastbourne as he builds up to lining up for the Stars in the Premiership next month.

Schroeck said: “Lewis is heading to one of his former tracks where he feels comfortable at Eastbourne, which will be good for him.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing him back on the bike as he is one of the most talented riders we have.

“I think now Lewis is a bit older now and a bit wiser. He won’t be playing at it, I know that for sure as he’s invested a lot in his machinery with engines and making sure things work for him.

“Lewis is going to go out and just enjoy his first practice so he will realise he can still do it, and that’s the thing with our sport – you can lose weight and get fit, but it’s the mental side of it which helps.”
