ACES SUPREME AT SHOWGROUND

BELLE Vue kept up their extraordinary record of success at Peterborough with a thumping 55-35 away win on Monday evening.

The victory was the Aces’ eighth in their last nine visits to the East of England Arena, and it was also their second win on the road in the space of five days to boost their Premiership prospects.

They were 20 points up after just seven races and reserve Jaimon Lidsey starred with 14 from five rides, including a win in Heat 15, whilst former Panthers rider Charles Wright added 10+1.

Danish duo Niels-Kristian Iversen (9) and Hans Andersen (8) both won two races in the second half of the meeting for the Panthers, but Michael Palm Toft failed to score as a guest at No.1.

Aces star Tom Brennan (7+2) said: “Now that we’ve got a few meetings under our belts we’re starting to find our feet and settle down, and we’re starting to show what this Belle Vue team can do.

“We’re much more cohesive as a unit than we were a few weeks ago. The level of communication has picked up significantly, the team is working as a team and we have the results to show for it.

“We weren’t just recording heat wins, we were packing the minor places as well and I believe that was another key difference for us on the night.”

Andersen said: “It’s very disappointing to not win home meetings, but Belle Vue have come here on a high and it’s never been a secret that they have riders who have a very big liking for this track.

“I don’t know what the problem was early on, because obviously if I knew we would have sorted it quicker, but it’s still only our second time on track this season and some of us haven’t ridden a lot.”
