Statistical History of British Speedway Play-Offs

The inaugural Elite League Play-Offs were held in 2002, with the Premier League embracing the model four years later in 2006. The Conference League also adopted the championship-deciding system in 2006, prior to morphing into the National League in 2009. From 2008-2010, inclusive, the Premier League Play-Offs did not determine the champions, but instead were a means of deciding who would participate in the Promotion/Relegation Race-Off against an Elite League side. The Premier League did not have Play-Offs in 2011. Similarly, the National League did not have Play-Offs in 2015 and 2021.
