RATHBONE RETURNS FOR BULLETS

BEN Rathbone has become the latest rider to commit his NDL future to Berwick in 2022.

Rathbone was ruled out in the closing stages of last season after suffering serious knee and finger injuries in a crash at Mildenhall, but he will be back to fitness to line up for the Bullets once more this year.

Manager Gary Flint said: “Ben is a very talented young man who comes from a fine speedway family, and although he is essentially returning from injury, I believe 2022 will be another season of big progress.

“Speedway riders really are gladiators of the modern day, and Ben’s only concern after suffering such brutal injuries at Mildenhall was whether or not we could still win the league!

“Ben’s technical ability on the bike is very impressive which gives him such a distinctive style. When it all comes together, he is capable of beating anyone in the NDL, and this potential is why we snapped him as a full club asset.”
