PREVIEW: OXFORD v MILDENHALL (NDL)

OXFORD host Mildenhall tonight (Wednesday) in the first of two vital NDL clashes between the clubs this week.

The Chargers are currently fourth in the table and are six points above the fifth-placed Fen Tigers, who have one match in hand and also face Oxford at West Row on Sunday.

Nathan Stoneman remains sidelined for the hosts, who operate rider replacement, whilst Mildenhall have booked Max Clegg to guest for James Shanes, r/r operates for Sam Bebee, and Sam Woods comes in for the injured Luke Muff.

Chargers boss Peter Schroeck said: “We’re not getting ahead of ourselves, but it’s true to say a position in the NDL play-offs is firmly in our hands.

“We’ll miss Nathan as he has been a big points scorer at this level. But if we stick to the basics and show our usual track craft, I’m confident we can achieve a positive result.

In-form Fen Tigers reserve Josh Warren said: “I have actually at least been able to sound out the place a bit having been there twice this year mechanicing for Danny King in the Championship.

“But for me and the others it’ll be the first time we’ve actually ridden at Oxford.  We know the significance of this fixture and will be giving it our all.”

OXFORD: Jordan Jenkins, Henry Atkins, Sam Hagon, Jody Scott, Nathan Stoneman R/R, Arran Butcher, Jacob Clouting.
MILDENHALL: Jason Edwards, Sam Bebee R/R, Jack Kingston, Alex Spooner, Max Clegg, Josh Warren, Sam Woods.
