PREVIEW: LEICESTER v BERWICK (NDL)
LEICESTER kick off their NDL title defence with a home match against Berwick at the Pidcock Motorcycles Arena, Beaumont Park tonight (Saturday).
The Lion Cubs track five of last year’s successful septet with former club Max James stepping into the side full-time, whilst new signing Ashton Boughen makes his debut.
The Bullets are forced into changes following injuries to Archie Freeman (broken leg) and Mason Watson (concussion) yesterday.
George Congreve steps in to guest for Freeman at No.2 with rider replacement in operation for Watson.
Cubs boss Dave Howard said: “We have the youngest team in the NDL this year, and as always the club are looking to the future.
“With just the top two going directly into the play-off Final this year and with aggregate points being awarded too, it will be vital that we continue with our previous home form in the fight for a top two position.”
LEICESTER: Dan Thompson, Ashton Boughen, Max Perry, Tom Spencer, Joe Thompson, Vinnie Foord, Max James.
BERWICK: Connor Coles, George Congreve, Mason Watson R/R, Danny Phillips, Greg Blair, Josh Embleton, Jamie Halder.
