PREVIEW: EDINBURGH v WORKINGTON (NDL)

EDINBURGH face Workington in the NDL today (Saturday) with both sides looking to bounce back from recent defeats.

The Monarchs Academy lost out at Mildenhall last Sunday after a strong battle, whilst the Comets’ play-off hopes have been hit by losses on their home track.

Edinburgh are without injured duo Alex Spooner and Kyran Lyden, whilst Luke Crang is still on the sidelines for the visitors.

Academy boss Scott Wilson said: “I will make sure the boys have picked themselves back up in time for Saturday’s match against a good Workington side.

“With Dayle (Wood) in great form, and Mickie (Simpson) showing more consistent flashes of his true level we will look to cover the rider replacement as best we can.”

Comets promoter Andrew Bain said: “We need to do everything we can to get a result from this match.

“Edinburgh is a tough place to go to its completely different to Northside, but we still need to go up there and start clawing back some points we’ve lost in the last few weeks.”

Team line-ups subject to confirmation:

EDINBURGH: Max Clegg, Mark Parker, Jacob Hook, Alex Spooner, Adam Roynon, Mickie Simpson, Dayle Wood.
WORKINGTON: Lee Complin, Sam McGurk, Luke Harrison, Luke Crang r/r, Ace Pijper, Harry McGurk, Elliot Kelly.
