PREVIEW: BELLE VUE v MILDENHALL (NDL)

BELLE VUE bid to boost their NDL play-off hopes when they host a much-changed Mildenhall side at the National Speedway Stadium tonight (Friday).

The Colts are at full strength whilst the Fen Tigers hand a seasonal debut to Matt Marson, who has replaced the injured Alex Spooner.

But the visitors are also without No.1 Jason Edwards due to a Championship commitment, and fellow heat-leader James Shanes who is racing grasstrack. Greg Blair guests for Edwards, whilst unattached Jacob Fellows comes in with no facility available for Shanes.

Colts co-boss Steve Williams said: “We’ve only got seven matches left to secure our spot in the play-offs, and every bit of support is vital in those final matches of our season.

“Even though they have two riders missing, Greg Blair is very adept around the National Speedway Stadium and Jacob Fellows will no doubt give his all. But we’ve said it many times before, we have such faith in this team.”

Mildenhall co-owner Greg Palmer said: “We find ourselves in a position we didn’t ever want to be in on Friday.

“When we took over the club one of our big things was to never go into any meeting with a team that wasn’t as strong as we would like, but this season has presented so many difficult challenges on the injury front.”

BELLE VUE: Jack Smith, Sam McGurk, Nathan Ablitt, Jake Mulford, Harry McGurk, Archie Freeman, Freddy Hodder.
MILDENHALL: Greg Blair, Matt Marson, Jacob Fellows, Jack Kingston, Sam Bebee, Josh Warren, Luke Muff.
