PREVIEW: BELLE VUE v BERWICK (NDL)

BELLE Vue take on NDL leaders Berwick in an intriguing clash at the National Speedway Stadium tonight (Friday).

The Colts are fourth in the table having won all their points at home, whilst the Bullets are nine points clear at the top, already with one away win on the board.

The home side operate rider replacement for the unavailable Jake Mulford, and come up against two former Belle Vue riders in Kyle Bickley and Ben Rathbone.

Colts co-boss Steve Williams said: “The Bullets do have a number of riders who know this track very well, but we just need to concentrate on our own game plan and hopefully make a good few starts and get as many points as possible.

“Jake will be a big miss to us, but the rest of the lads are fully capable of covering for his rides, and we also have Luke Harrison in at No.8 should we need him too, and he’s one for the future.

“It would be fantastic to keep our unblemished home record, and the boys likewise will be setting out to ensure that we do. I think we are in for a tough but very enjoyable meeting.”

Bullets coach Kevin Little said: “It’s good to keep winning at home, but the lads have all been patiently waiting for another road trip and they don’t need any motivation to do well against Belle Vue.

“Kyle and Ben are both ex-Colts, while Ace (Pijper) has ridden the NSS many times in practice and the youth series, and the rest all had a taste of what to expect last season.”

BELLE VUE: Jake Mulford R/R, Sam McGurk, Harry McGurk, Nathan Ablitt, Jack Smith, Archie Freeman, Freddy Hodder, Luke Harrison (no.8).
BERWICK: Kyle Bickley, Mason Watson, Ace Pijper, Greg Blair, Luke Crang, Kieran Douglas, Ben Rathbone.
