LAWSON JOINS COMETS BACKROOM

FORMER Workington rider Steve Lawson has been named as a co-promoter for the Comets’ revival this season.

Lawson, who spent the bulk of his successful racing career with Glasgow, has been instrumental in the overhaul of the Northside training venue alongside fellow co-promoter Andrew Bain.

With stadium work nearing completion, Lawson’s application for a promoter’s licence was approved this week and the first NDL meeting is scheduled for May 13.
